Arbor’s surf skates are the product of a close collaboration between Arbor, Carver, and two influential surfboard shapers – Ryan Lovelace and Tyler Warren.
These two stunning surf skates, 32″ and 29″ respectively, are shaped and named after high-performance surfboards whose designs have been adapted to concrete surfing, combining them with the awesome Carver surf truck.
Ryan Lovelace is a true artist in the world of wave-riding craft and a visionary in the shaping community. He has an innovative approach to surfboard design with a full commitment to eco-friendly materials (site).
Tyler Warren is also an acclaimed shaper with a forward-thinking approach to design combined with a deep respect for surfing’s heritage. He is famous for his alternative shapes and designs. He has a rare ability to craft boards that are fast, responsive, and stylish (site).
Lovelace and Warren have designed the shapes of the two Arbor surf skates, which bear their names.
Let’s take a closer look.
Arbor Ryan Lovelace Shaper 32″ surf skate

The 32″ x 10″ Arbor Ryan Lovelace Shaper is a wide, rounded pin that’s comfortable to skate, and provides the stable feel, and deep carve of a single fin.
Check out the Lovelace here on Evo
The deck has a full, modern shortboard surfboard outline, wider around the front truck mount and narrower toward the rear.

It features a small, low-incline kicktail and a subtle concave for freedom of movement.

The top side has a beautiful natural wood veneer with clear grip tape. The graphics on the bottom side feature artsy color stains with mixed shades of white, green, blue, yellow, and black. The Ryan Lovelace, Arbor, and Carver names and logos are layered on top.

The C7 truck set is known for its flowy, soulful, classic surf feel. The relatively long 17″ wheelbase provides good stability in the very loose and fluid surf turns the C7 allows for.
The C7 makes it a joy to slash driveways and parking lots for surf training. You use a full body rotation from head to shoulders to hips to feet to get the Lovelace surf skate pumping and flowing.
The Lovelace complete comes with 3/16″ Carver double padded risers to ensure enough wheel clearance in those extreme surf turns. As always with Carver, the tall trucks and added riser result in a slightly higher ride height for the setup.
The 65mm Arbor Easyrider (Cannon) wheels give the surf skate a nice fast roll, very smooth and cushy feel, and plenty of grip for hard carving thanks to its sharp lip and wide (51mm) contact patch.

Arbor Tyler Warren Shaper 29″ mini surf skate

Short and wide at 29″ x 9 7/8″, the Arbor Tyler Warren Shaper is based on Tyler’s Soap shape. It’s designed to be a fast, loose, agile down-the-line, tight-carving mini cruiser skateboard.

This shape features a very wide square tail and a rounded square (blunt) nose. The latter provides ample foot space in the front for maximum leverage on the front trucks.
This combined with the C7 front truck results in an incredibly responsive and slashy surf skate.
The Arbor Warren has a large kicktail relative to the deck size. The sheer size and angle of the tail make this surf skate super maneuverable and suitable for extreme snapbacks; tailslides, and even park and bowl riding.

The Warren’s compact size makes it very portable for fun daily commuting. This cool little surf skate can easily be carried around in public transport (though the C7 does add weight to the complete) and stashed under a desk.
Despite its small size, the Arbor Warren has a respectable 15.5″ wheelbase that gives it the stability it needs when paired with the powerful C7 surf truck.

Here again, a set of risers comes included in the setup to ensure sufficient wheel clearance with the 65mm Easyrider wheels when performing radical cutbacks and tailslides.
The Warren boasts an attractive surf-style yellow design without a slightly darker contour line reinforcing that surfboard look. The Tyler Warren logo on the bottom adds to the board’s cool and stylish vibe.
