Jones Snowboards has introduced the Forrest Shearer Signature Series Hovercraft 2024, a standout snowboard that honors the legacy of pro rider Forrest Shearer.
Known for his exceptional skills and long-standing partnership with the Hovercraft model, this edition celebrates his contributions with unique designs by Geoff McFetridge.
Priced at $600, the Hovercraft 2.0 targets seasoned riders seeking agility and stability. Its design emphasizes a balance between ease of maneuverability in powder and dependable performance at high velocities.
The Forrest Shearer Signature Series comes in two sizes. The 152 cm model is best for riders weighing between 110-160 lbs. and fits boot sizes US 7-9 (EUR 39.5-41.5). It has a waist width of 25.9 cm and is compatible with S/M bindings. It’s ideal for lighter to medium-built individuals looking for agility.

The 156 cm version is for riders in the weight range of 130-180 lbs. with boot sizes 9 and above (EUR 41.5+). This board has a slightly wider waist width of 26.3 cm and matches well with M/L bindings. It offers a stable ride for heavier riders or those with larger feet.
In terms of features, the Forrest Shearer has a Directional Rocker profile blending more tip rocker with less tail rocker and camber between the bindings for better float in powder and responsive handling on hardpack.
The board also features Traction Tech 1.0 which adds extra grip along the edge for improved control in icy conditions.
The sidecut radius increases progressively towards the board’s ends, facilitating smoother initiation and exit from turns. This allows for a more fluid connection with the snow.
The 3D Contour Base reduces drag and improves glide across all snow types. The blunt nose shape, designed to optimize float in powder, minimizes drag and snow resistance and provides an efficient glide without the additional weight of a traditional rounded nose.
The durable Sintered 8000 Base and environmentally friendly Bio Resin reflect Jones’ dedication to quality and ecological responsibility. The board also uses an Eco-Plastic topsheet, an environmentally friendly option that’s durable and snow-repellent.

The collaboration between Forrest Shearer and Geoff McFetridge on the board’s aesthetics emphasizes Shearer’s environmental advocacy and his connection to mountain culture.
The distinctive graphics serve as a visual narrative of Shearer’s riding and highlight the board’s commitment to sustainability.
This board is engineered to excel across a variety of snow conditions. The medium flex strikes a balance between responsiveness for quick turns and stiffness for stability at speed.
It caters to intermediate and expert riders looking for a versatile and high-performing board. Check it out here on Jones Snowboards.
