Carver x Bing Surf: A Legends Collab

Carver x Bing Surf: A Legends Collab

Carver Surf Skates has started a collaboration with Bing Surfboards, one of the most influential surfboard maker of the sixties and early seventies, renowned for its expert craftsmanship.

Bing Copeland’s influence on surfing is profound, from his nose riders for legends like David Nuuhiwa, to his collabs with the Campbell Brothers. He designed the Bonzer, one of the most unique and enduring designs of the ’60s.

Bing Surfboards has always remained true to the roots of surfing. Lead by master shaper Matt Calvani, Bing Surfboards continues to refine classic nose riding boards and innovate with modern surf gear. Bing is one of the most iconic and recognizable brands in surfing.

The Carver x Bing collab has given birth to two great new surfskates, the 27.5″ Puck and the 37″ Continental.

Carver x Bing Puck 27.5″

The Bing Puck is a short and wide (27.5″ x 10″) mini-shredder inspired by Bing’s Puck hybrid surfboard.

The compact wide shape makes it very snappy and tight turning, with lots of rail control. Yet, the astonishingly long wheelbase (15.25″) for such as tiny board gives it great stability for newbies especially when paired with a CX truck set.

The Puck features a wide square tail and a rounded nose, as well as an aggressive, nicely angled kick with a classic tail patch design.

This is a good board for working on deep carves, tight turns, and smooth transitions, especially for smaller riders. It’s also well-suited for tight sidewalks and is highly portable for “surf commuting”.

The Puck ships with either CX or C7 trucks and big, fast, and grippy 70mm 78A Concave wheels. The deck is fitted with quality Sugarcoat grip tape.

Carver x Bing Continental 37″

Designed after Bing’s beautiful Continental longboard surfboard (9′ to 11′ long), the Carver x Bing Continental surf skate is now the longest and widest board in Carver’s lineup.

It aims to replicate on land that gliding and easy ride feel you get from longboard surfing.

The Continental is ideal for easy cruising, nose riding, cross-stepping, and board walking thanks to its generous shape and long, super stable 21.25″ wheelbase resulting in a flowy ride.

Despite the large foot platform, the Carver trucks (CX or C7) keep this surf skate super responsive and maneuverable. The huge angled kicktail adds even more maneuverability in turns.

This epic surf skate combines the style and looks of a waxed longboard surfboard (thanks to the Sugarcoat grip tape) and the nice and responsive feel of a surf skate.

Like the Puck, the Continental ships with either the CX or C7 truck and large soft 70mm wheels.
