Why is ridingboards.com membership invite only?
There are 2 reasons:
First, we want ridingboards.com to be all about getting out into the world, surfing, snowboarding and skating. It’s great to check out a few videos, photos and to plan your next trip using the internet but it’s certainly no substitute for the real thing and we want to inspire the real thing, rather than distract you from it!
We decided that, to help us create a community of surfers, 'boarders and skaters who get out and ride, we’d start with 100 people who do just that, and see if we can spread across the surf, snow and skate communities in the real world as they invite their friends, then they invite their friends, and so on, and so on, and so on...
Which brings us to our second reason: This is kind of an experiment.
When we came up with this idea, we thought of 12 different countries in which we know other boardriders, in about a minute, off the tops of our heads. Because boardriders travel, meet people and make friends better than just about any other community of people on the planet, we’re pretty sure that we can start with just 100 people, keep membership invite-only, and still get everyone involved sooner or later!
